Major Duties

  • This position is located at the 7th Signal Command (Theater), 106th Signal Brigade, USA NTWK ENT CTR (Ft. Bliss) Services Management Division, located at Fort Bliss, TX.
  • Responsible for ensuring compliance with established Army regulations, policies and procedures.
  • Based on a thorough review of case files, makes favorable determinations or and prepares Letters of Intent to deny/revoke access/security clearance.
  • Serves as the security officer for all visits to command facilities and processes.
  • Determines the need to waive personnel security and investigative standards, and/or under what circumstances specific waivers can be justified.
  • Identifies security controls for Force Protection/Counter Terrorism to assure maximum protection, and in the areas of information, personnel, equipment, and facilities.
  • Makes recommendations regarding Risk Management Framework (RMF) and Cyber Command Readiness Inspection (CCRI) programs.

Specialized experience is defined as experience utilizing two or more of the following disciplines, Communications Security (COMSEC), Personnel Security (PERSEC), Information Security (INFOSEC) and/or Physical Security (PHYSEC); AND conducting Cyber Command Readiness Inspections (CCRI) for an organization. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GG/GS-11). Specialized experience is progressively responsible intelligence-related security work directly related to the position being filled. Creditable experience may include previous military experience, experience gained in the private sector or in another government agency as long as it was at a level at least equivalent to the next lower band in the series.
