Major Duties

  • Develops and applies ORA-based analytical processes, methods, and tools to provide analysis, review, planning staff support, coordination, research, analysis, evaluation, document preparation, and briefings.
  • Collaborates with other team members to evaluate strategic guidance originating from higher echelons, then defines parameters for, develops, and applies ORA-based analytical models.
  • Contributes to integration of strategic assessment findings into the specific forms required by the DoD program planning process.
  • Defines a detailed program of incremental activities and milestones; and translates these requirements and objectives into specific projects plans, schedules, and deliverables.
  • Ensures all analytical approaches and findings are captured in forms that serve to document and justify the accuracy of results, and to capture work efforts/work products for the team’s and the Command’s knowledge base.

Basic requirement: Degree: Bachelor's degree (or higher degree) in operations research; or a degree with at least 24 semester hours in a combination of operations research, mathematics, probability, statistics, mathematical logic, science, or subject-matter courses requiring substantial competence in college-level mathematics or statistics. At least 3 of the 24 semester hours must have been in calculus. Such experience is typically in or directly related to the work of the position to be filled. Specialized experience would be demonstrated by conducting in-depth analysis, evaluating decision-making data, and assisting in planning and coordination efforts. Analyzing operations research analysis (ORA) models and methods, defining assessment objectives, scope, impact, risks, and feasibility. Developing (ORA) based analytical models to identify and assess key implications for organization missions, roles, and responsibilities.
