Major Duties

  • Serves as an Inspector General (IG), Chief of Assistance and Investigations, with responsibility for responding to requests for IG assistance, conducting investigations, and planning and executing site visits.
  • Evaluates and assesses overall operations of organization by reviewing assistance and investigation activity in such areas as resource utilization, military leadership, training, compliance with regulations and directives, and business practices.
  • Prepares report of findings, and develops briefing or executive summary for presentation to the Commander, Deputy Commander, Chief of Staff, and senior leaders in HQ ARCYBER.
  • Serves as the liaison between DoDIG, DAIG, Combatant Command IGs, USCYBERCOM, ACOM/ASCC/DRU IGs, NETCOM, 7th SC(T), 335th and 311th SC(T) IG subordinate commands in discussing issues relevant to the IG functional responsibilities.
  • Analyzes and reports on ARCYBER’s state of economy, efficiency, systemic weaknesses, discipline, and morale for the Commanding General.
  • Conducts investigations into complaints, allegations of fraud, improper conduct, and other situations where individuals assert they have been wronged by a DoD system or that a system is not functioning as required or designed.

Such experience is typically in or directly related to the work of the position to be filled. Specialized experience would be demonstrated by Conducting Inspector General inspections and investigations to analyze critical problems to include fraud, waste, abuse, and inappropriate behavior, and correcting injustices to individuals or groups; preparing Inspector General written reports describing problem areas, identifying standards violated and recommending courses of corrective action; analyzing and evaluating Inspector General cases that are personal in nature and contain sensitive information; and working with management on proposals that may involve agency resources, require extensive changes to established procedures, or may be in conflict with the desires of the organization
