Major Duties

  • Serves as Chief, Mobile Maintenance Team (MMT) assigned to United States Army Network Enterprise Center Okinawa (USANEC-O) Transport Branch with management and supervisory responsibilities of the overall MMT operation and resources.
  • Directs troubleshooting, maintenance and monitoring of designated 18 Defense Information Systems Network (DISN) and Department of Defense information Networks (DODIN) Facilities and assets.
  • Supervises and manages a team of 10 to 15 Mobile Maintainers overseeing the operation and maintenance of DISN and DODIN-based equipment, circuits, trunks and links.
  • Responsible for reporting mission, equipment, personnel and various status’ during typhoon or contingency operations to the Transport Branch Chief at DISN/DODIN Facilities.
  • Manages the On-the-Job Training (OJT) Program, aka Site Certification Program, for MMT.
  • Assists the designated Contracting Officer Representative and Financial Specialist to achieve desired Performance of Work Statements (PWS) and contract outcomes.

Specialized experience would be demonstrated by Basic Requirement for Telecommunications Manager: Specialized and Other Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes performing quality control tests and measurements on all applicable services, trunks, channels, circuits, and equipment; developing a comprehensive site certification program to ensure personnel are fully certified to perform mission tasks emphasizing continuous training and proficiency; assisting with the development and management of an On-the-Job Training (OJT) Program; utilizing performance and evaluation measures annually to develop relevant training topics and materials for future mission tasks; and managing, directing, troubleshooting, maintaining and monitoring the operation and maintenance of designated Defense Information Systems Network (DISN) and Department of Defense Information Networks (DODIN) assets. For this job, you may qualify if your education meets the definitions below: Education: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the work of the position, such as electrical or electronic engineering, mathematics, physics, public utilities, statistics, computer science, telecommunications management, information systems management, business administration, industrial management, or other fields related to the position to be filled. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
