Major Duties
- Serve as Supervisory Information Technology Specialist (Information Security) and primary Key Management Infrastructure (KMI) communications security operating account manager (PKOAM) for a combatant command's headquarters and area of responsibility.
- Provide guidance and subject-matter expertise on COMSEC matters.
- Enforce COMSEC policy to provide security policy and doctrine for the protection of Army resources.
- Inspect the command's COMSEC local elements and other elements' compliance with established regulations and directives.
- Represent the command as a cryptographic and COMSEC technical expert on Army and interservice committees and task forces.
- Maintain contacts with higher authority regarding program policy and requirements.
- Coordinate with other federal or civil organizations as required.
- Adapt, coordinate, and disseminate National Security Agency (NSA), Department of the Army (DA), and Department of Defense (DoD) policy and procedures.
- Establish the overall enterprise information security architecture (EISA).
- Recommend actions to improve the effectiveness of operations.

Specialized experience would be demonstrated by managing a communications security account (i.e., receipt, control, inventory, transfer, issue, reporting, safeguarding, accountability, security, turn-in, shipment, and destruction) to comply with governing rules, regulations, and policies; providing communications security advice to the organization's staff/leadership to support the decision-making process; conducting communications security audits and inspections in accordance with applicable regulations; and supervising or leading a team of information security professionals in a fast-paced environment.
