Major Duties
- Serve as Deputy S-3 responsible for operations, communications planning, and coordinating, directing and reviewing a variety of work functions of the 302d Signal Battalion’s Defense Communications System telecommunications facilities.
- Provide operational direction to the Battalion Watch Officers responsible for Higher Headquarters status reporting of Battalion’s DCS facilities and for the after-duty hours security of the 302d Signal Battalion Headquarters building.
- Develop short and long-range plans required for efficient and effective utilization of personnel and equipment required to support 24hours-per-day, 7 days-per-week telecommunications services to customers.
- Provide operational and technical supervision for military and Department of Army Civilian personnel, including serving as first-line supervisor.
- Act as the central point of contact for all communications circuit/trunk/system or equipment degradations or outages.
- Responsible for 24 hour notification and reporting of problem situations to Battalion staff, the 21st Theater Signal Brigade, and Defense Information System Agency (DISA).
